Excelsior Capital Asia (“Excelsior”) generally seeks significant stakes in investee companies, targeting fund equity investments of between US$15 and US$50 million.  Efforts are focused on the small- and mid-cap segment of the market where Excelsior can contribute strategic, operational and financial value to the business.  "Partnership" with management teams and other shareholders is an important aspect of the investment strategy, with a focus on structured capital to solve deal issues and manage investment risk. 

Deal sourcing efforts have historically focused in North Asia, with specifically targeted coverage and investment themes in the integrated markets of South Korea and Greater China.  More recently, Excelsior has strengthened its capabilities in Vietnam and Indochina, as this area has become an investment destination of choice for North Asian investee companies and corporate relationships.  The firm’s mandate is flexible with respect to industry, although the team has unique capability in selected sectors including consumer products, healthcare, education and media.
